sterling silver signed Gugliemo Cini large Art Nouveau inspired cherub brooch / necklace
Sterling silver necklace. This is a really fabulous piece made by the late Gugliemo Cini, or better known as just Cini. Cini made jewelry from 1922 until his death in the 1970s. This piece is likely circa 1950s, but could possibly be a bit older or more recent than that based on the work he made around that time. This is a very detailed piece with there even being small faces on the dangling designs at the bottom. The large pendant can be worn as a brooch if you'd rather wear it that way, although the pendant is quite heavy so it may not sit the best being worn as a brooch. It comes on a beautiful paperclip chain. Cini's pieces are works of art, and this piece is no exception! Insurance is included in the cost of shipping for this piece.
Please note that the circle links on the chain were hand soldered. There is visible solder on each link. One link however has a split in it that you may want to have re-soldered by a jeweler. Please see photos. This was a cast piece, so some features such as the Cherub's faces are not as prominent as they would be if this was hand-carved.
The silver is scratched from wear and storage, as is typical with vintage jewelry. This jewelry may also have tarnishing and patina that may not come off when polished.
Chain is 24"
Pendant is 4 1/8" long by 2 5/8" wide
