rare sterling silver Margot de Taxco Mexico enamel Egyptian Revival goddess brooch **AS IS**
Sterling silver brooch. This is a relatively rare piece made by Margot de Taxco. It is definitely a collectors piece and a fine example of the work that Margot did. There is some slight movement capability of this brooch as the head is attached to the headpiece by pins, so the head is able to nod slightly.
Unfortunately, being as old as it is, this piece is not without flaws that we have reflected in the price. There are areas of missing enamel, discolored enamel, cracked and chipped enamel, and there should have been chains dangling from the jump rings by the ear that are missing. This piece could perhaps be restored but it can of course be enjoyed as is. We recommend looking up this piece online to see what it's full potential could be and to also get an idea of what others have listed and sold it for in non-damaged condition.
The silver is scratched from wear and storage, as is typical with vintage jewelry. This jewelry may also have tarnishing and patina that may not come off when polished.
Measures approx. 2 7/8" long by 2 1/4" at its widest
